Welcome to AmberLake Labrador Retrievers.

We are located on three acres in the beautiful foliage of Fallbrook, California in San Diego’s Northern part of the County.  Our lives are dedicated to the dogs, and our beautiful Labrador Retrievers.  We breed sparingly, incorporating lineage with the best possible outcomes and diversity.  We breed to produce structure, beauty, brains and temperament, in a limited breeding program. The help of many successful breeders has allowed us success in improving our breeding program with knowledge that have been passed down decades ago.  We utilize the knowledge to produce truly healthy and good natured Labradors.  We are eager to share what we know to those who are serious in giving a wonderful Labrador the best home possible. Our goal here is to educate, direct prospective puppy owners to the right dog, and to open the eyes of pet owners to the variety of fun filled activities which AKC has to offer.

As you may already know, the Labrador Retriever breed is the highest registered breed of AKC.  It is important, as a prospective Labrador puppy owner, to familiarize oneself to the breed.  There have been a great deal of haphazard breeding practices to which certain critical traits in Labradors have diminished.  Our interpretation to the Labrador Retriever breed standard highlights temperament, disposition, and eagerness to please.  Having a wonderful, easygoing, mellow, and obedient Labrador as a companion truly provides more value than any other traits.  We are proud that not only our Labradors have structure conformation, with the ability to show, but our Labradors are very easy to live with at home.  They are also very well equipped to retrieve game out in the field and water, when given the chance.

We take great pride in our breeding programs.  We also take pride in the care and the rearing of our litters.  We go to extreme lengths to insure proper socialization, diet, and exercise.  We as breeders, acknowledge the importance in providing the best possible jumpstart in life.  Each and every soul that we help bring into this world will hopefully live a long and happy life.

Our Trained Labrador Retriever Puppies

If you are in search of a well behaved, obedience trained, housebroken, and intelligent Labrador Retriever, you have come to the right place. We offer extensive training, socializing, and temperament testing for each of the Labrador Retrievers we have to offer. Also, the Labrador Retrievers we provide are of quality that is reflected on its outstanding pedigree from generations upon generations of a meticulous breeding program.

We are very familiar with several positive training methods and have successfully devised a training program for puppies as young as 6 weeks of age. Our training techniques provide truly positive guidance for puppies at this tender age. We will eventually implement positive corrections for puppies 12 weeks and older. Nevertheless, we will always provide a very social and happy atmosphere for puppies in training.

Stimulation starts from the day they are born. Clipping nails, continuous handling of each puppy we produce have a tremendous impact in their mental health. Every day, each pup will go through a 5 minute handling exercise, which consist of petting almost upside down for 60 seconds, laying on a cold wet towel for 60 seconds, rubbing on the legs and paws for another 60 seconds, and receiving constant strokes on the back and head for 2 minutes. This is done with each pup twice a day, everyday until they are about 4 weeks old. They are also played with by family members, friends, and staff members.

In each of the litters we produce, we make it a priority to select the best candidates for advanced training. All puppies will go through a series of temperament testing, but the ones that we choose for training will have outshined the rest in adaptability, trainability, and temperament.

As Breeders, we selectively breed for temperament, beauty, conformation and intelligence. We have produced AKC Champions, Show Dog Hall of Fame achievers, and obedience titled dogs. We breed to stud dogs that have achieved some of the highest accolades in the dog show arena. The pedigrees of our puppies and young adult golden retrievers are truly considered to be top of the line. We take great pride in out breeding program and are rewarded through the relationships of our puppy buyers throughout the years.

The health of our dogs has been screened for several generations. We test hearts, hips, eyes, and elbows for puppies who are over 5 months of age. Parents will always have had their clearances prior to breeding. We do guarantee the health of our dogs for 3 years and we are confident that we can do this because we are very familiar with most of the dogs in the pedigrees of our breeding program. If there is any question as to the health of a particular golden retriever, we take them out of the breeding program. We only want to produce happy, healthy, beautiful and smart Labrador Retrievers. It is not only for ourselves, it is for those who can fully enjoy the companionship of one of our Labrador Retrievers.

We do have a limited breeding program and on occasion may only have a few puppies available for homes. Please contact us to place a reservation for a trained Labrador Retriever puppy.
